Terms of service

Last updated — 25 July 2026

OurAfrica.

These terms are the agreement between you and OurAfrica when you use our platform — the web app, desktop app, and mobile app. Creating an account means you accept them, so we have kept them short enough to actually read.

Your account

You need an account to learn on OurAfrica. Keep your credentials to yourself: you are responsible for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country (or have a guardian’s consent).

Purchases — you own your courses

When you buy a course as an individual, that course is yours: continued access to its content and any certificate you earn does not expire with a subscription, because there is none. Prices are shown before you pay; taxes may apply depending on your country.

Organization subscriptions

  • Organizations subscribe per seat and select courses up to their plan’s allowance, with new allocations added monthly.
  • Trials activate automatically with full catalog access and convert or expire as described at signup.
  • If a subscription lapses, learner records are paused — never deleted. Certificates already earned remain valid and verifiable.
  • Organization administrators see member progress for their program, as described in our privacy policy.

Certificates

Certificates are issued to the learner, not the employer, and remain verifiable through our public verification page. A certificate attests that the named learner completed the named course on our records; misrepresenting or altering one is grounds for revocation and account termination.

Offline use

Our desktop and mobile apps let you download courses for personal offline learning. Downloaded content is encrypted and licensed to your account — it may not be extracted, redistributed, or shared. Progress made offline syncs when you reconnect.

Acceptable use

Do not:

  • Share, resell, or publicly redistribute course content.
  • Have someone else complete assessments in your name, or complete them for someone else.
  • Probe, disrupt, or overload the Platform, or attempt to bypass its security or licensing.
  • Use the Platform to harass others or to publish unlawful content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules. Where practical, we warn first.

Content and intellectual property

Course content, the OurAfrica brand, and the Platform itself are protected by copyright and other laws. Your license is personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable — for learning, not for redistribution. Content you submit (like notes or course requests) stays yours; you grant us the license needed to operate the Platform.

What we promise — and what we can't

We work to keep the Platform available, accurate, and safe, but it is provided “as is”: we cannot promise uninterrupted service, and course content does not constitute professional advice. To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Nothing in them removes consumer protections you are entitled to in your own country.

Changes

We may update these terms as the Platform evolves. Material changes are announced in the Platform before they take effect; continuing to use OurAfrica after that means you accept the updated terms.
