Cookie policy
Last updated — 25 July 2026
OurAfrica uses a small, deliberate set of cookies and on-device storage — enough to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and nothing that follows you around the internet.
Strictly necessary
These make the Platform work; they cannot be switched off while using it:
- Session cookies — hold your short-lived, encrypted sign-in tokens and refresh them automatically so you stay logged in securely.
- Security state — protects sign-in flows (for example during Google OAuth) from forgery.
Preferences
- Theme — remembers whether you chose the light or dark interface.
- Connectivity cache — briefly remembers the last reachability check so the app doesn’t flicker between online and offline states.
- Offline learning storage — on the desktop and mobile apps, downloaded courses and your offline progress are stored encrypted on your device so you can learn without a connection. Details are in section 5 of the privacy policy.
What we don't use
- No third-party advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting.
- No selling of browsing data — to anyone.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because our cookies are almost entirely the sign-in kind, blocking them will sign you out and prevent login — everything else about the marketing site keeps working.
